Electric Water Heaters
1. Shut off the power to your home at the breaker box.
2. Disconnect the cold and hot water supply lines from the water heater.
3. Drain the water from the tank by opening the drain valve at the bottom of the unit.
4. Remove the old water heater, being careful not to damage any surrounding pipes or fixtures.
5. Install the new electric water heater in the same location as the old one.
6. Reconnect the cold and hot water supply lines.
7. Fill the tank with water and turn on the power to your home.
8. Set the temperature on the new water heater to your desired level
Gas Water Heaters
1. Shut off the gas supply to your home.
2. Disconnect the cold and hot water supply lines from the water heater.
3. Drain the water from the tank by opening the drain valve at the bottom of the unit.
